Creative Potentials - Helping the Creative Industries Diversify

Creative Potentials is a project that focuses on creating an industry-ready workforce through training, work experience and youth employment opportunities for care experienced young people.

The tailored programme is designed to deepen and enrichen the talent pool and support a

development that results in a sector that is more fairly accessed, diverse, representative and resilient.

We support care experienced young people by providing one to one personal and professional coaching, enabling them to think of and prepare for training or a career in the creative industries.  We offer a bespoke and flexible vocational training model that encourages creative and cultural enterprise and supports care experienced young Scots into education, employment or training in the sector.

The pilot has had amazing success in supporting young people to secure positive destinations in college and university, work experience and placements, realising their own original arts works, and paid

employment with Articulate and other arts organisations.

Creative Potentials was originally supported by the People's Postcode Lottery and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.  It is now supported by the Baillie Gifford Community Awards from 2020 to 2023.

We are currently working in partnership with Creative Scotland to distribute funding from their Nurturing Talent Fund. Find out more about the New Routes grants for care experienced young people aged 11 - 15 here.
